Mind Magic

Hello Everyone

l expect that you are getting excited about next week and thinking about all the presents you are hoping that Father Christmas will bring you.

You might also be getting extra presents from your grandparents or aunties and uncles.

But there are presents that grown-ups can give children all year round and they don’t even cost anything – and that is praise and encouragement.

Unfortunately, not all children get these things.

But the good news is, that you can give them to yourself!

You can tell yourself that you can do well, and you are doing well, and that you have done well.  You can be your own cheerleader.

Filling up your head with faith in yourself, is a kind of magic, because it summons up a special strength from within and increases your power.

You can use this power to help yourself.

So how do you use this power?

You need to set an intention to bring forth success and happiness.

lntent, is setting a purpose and goal, and you need to constantly communicate it to yourself.

There are three main ways you can do this.

You can talk to yourself – in any volume of voice.

You can write down your intention – on post-it notes or in a journal.

You can visualize things in your head.

Use clear and positive words and pictures.  Be very specific.  Don’t use words like can’t and not.

The next step is to listen to your inner guidance, and it will help you go in the right direction to get yourself to a good place.  You will feel this in the centre of your body. This feeling is called intuition.

lt is like an inner voice, or an inner compass, giving you guidance.

This guidance helps you to make good choices.

The older you get, the more you have to take responsibility for your own decisions.  You can’t say ‘he made me play on the railway line’ or ‘she made me steal from that shop’.  You have to know that doing the wrong thing is not a good choice, and it is up to you not to make that choice.

You can get in touch with your intuition by being still and thoughtful.

lt is in your dreams and your moment of stillness, that the Truth comes into your head – and then you can know what your Truth is.

lt is strange how sometimes you just know that you should do something, or not do something, but you don’t know exactly how you know – you just know.  Also, you don’t always know why you should or shouldn’t do something, which is difficult, because your logic wants reasons and full understanding.

Sometimes you know the answer to a problem when you are thinking about something else, or on waking up, or even in a dream.

You can get a hunch about something, or a flash of inspiration which you know to be a good idea.

This blog started with a flash of inspiration!

Another important thing to know is, that when you get inspiration to do something it is a signpost to move you on to another place – not necessarily a final destination, but a place that is on the way to where you want to go.

You might think that you were guided to do something, but it is not making you happy – that is because it is only a step towards another place.

You may think you have made a mistake or a bad choice, but this may not be so – you just haven’t finished the plan yet.  You are still on the journey.  And small steps taken constantly, can get enormous results over time.

lt is like choosing to do a job, but you have to do a lot of schooling, and go on courses to learn a lot of things, before you can do that job.  You can’t just go and do it, because you won’t know how to do it until you have learned all you need to know in order to be able to do that job.

Some paths are difficult, but it does not mean to say you are on the wrong path.

Sometimes, difficult times are just making you strong, capable and worthy enough to receive lovely gifts of good times, wonderful things and happiness later on.

Sometimes, the easiest paths take you to the worst places, and the hardest paths take you to the best places – you just have to keep doing the right thing.

Bye bye everyone – don’t forget to subscribe to my blog!

This week, the vicar roped Captain Jack and me into doing a job for him.

He wanted some holly to decorate the church and the village hall.  There will be lots of parties coming up for lots of different groups of people.

And then of course, I knew who would be going up a ladder again putting it up around the walls inside – yes me!

We got some holly from Auntie Alice’s garden and the Rocky Bay Woods and loaded up Captain Jack’s car.

We needed a lot of holly.

But it was very prickly and difficult to manage.

Boy, was it prickly!

We pushed it into the back of the car – and got very, very prickled.

Captain Jack said that there must be a better way to do this, as we drove along the lanes towards Rocky Bay with holly sticking into the backs of our necks!

Then I hit upon a brilliant idea.

I suggested we plant holly bushes around the church and the walls of the Rocky Bay Community Orchard and then when the vicar wanted some to decorate the church we wouldn’t have to carry it so far.

We could just bring it in from outside.

Brilliant!

We will get Bill and Bob planting up holly berries very soon.

Oh and l nearly forgot –

just one last message to all my lovely readers

And thank you for your support throughout the year

lt’s the Weekend!

HOW TO MAKE BlRD SEED ORNAMENTS

You may have been stocking piles of food for Christmas.

You may want to make some treats for the wildlife outside too.

Here is a decoration for your garden that the birds can eat.

You need to collect seeds and nuts and dried fruit that the birds would like to eat and mix it into some melted fat in a warm saucepan.  You can use the seeds from a melon and a few cake crumbs as well.  You will need to use the kind of fat that will set hard.

Fill cookie cutters with the mixture and shove a drinking straw into the top of the shape so that when the mixture sets a hole will be created.

You can use hearts and stars and a gingerbread man shape could look like a snowman.

Once the decoration is taken out of the cookie cutter, you can thread a piece of string or red or green yarn through the hole so that you will be able to hang it up on a bare branch outside.

If bits break off, it doesn’t matter because some birds prefer to eat off the ground anyway.  They are called ground feeders.

Don’t forget to give the birds water; you may have to break the ice at the top of their dishes in the mornings though, or even put another dish of water out if the ice is too thick to break.

You can push a peanut butter and seed mix into a pine cone and hang that up – use yarn tied firmly around the top, not thread that could get tangled around a bird’s leg.

Or you could simply thread dried fruit and seed heads onto garlands of string and hang them up between branches.

Then you will look outside your windows to see decorations outside your house as well as inside!
